speaking of wanting the community help me expand MMB - i plan on jacking metros 'quests' pages. Some quests are very poorly written, and are not worth the time to jack.



I'm also wanting to jack the character dev. section to. so if you guys would like to help w/ that also, it will be added.



also - My PHP/HTML skillz are slack. If someone would like to spooce up a page over there, YES PLEASE!



NoTE: - this is DEFINITLY NOT the first time i have asked for help on MMB. So my expectations are null to void...

#1. saryx0919: Dont ask for hacks. You won't get a reply and if you do, the reply will be edited and/or post locked.



#2 Everyone else: I agree people should search when they can, but try to be helpful instead of scolding people when they ask a "simple" question. If you want to imply that he should search, a link like this: http://mmb.forumshq.com/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=5691&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending goes a long way. It takes you 5, maybe 10 seconds to get that link and people will get the message. Everyone will be happy.

It's not hard to set up and edit. It's hard to debug silly errors that crop up. You can do an install the same way on one machine as you would another, and have something mess up. It all depends. And plus, we do get some real noobs here that hardly know how to turn their computer on, let alone install WG. We are here to help them, not to criticise them. We are trying to expand the majormud community, not reduce it to only computer literate people. If every prospective sysop that came here got all of the answers they needed, and all of the help they needed, the MMB community would have more places to play mud. This forum is dedicated to helping the people who are trying to put their feet in the door of the world of Majormud Hexing/Altering. If we had pushed away all of these people, like it seems people are doing now, there would be virtually no hex edited boards available to us. Why would you be rude to someone who is a potential sysop of a great board? We need to take these people in and show them how to do things, what this does, what that does. If we don't do that, the hexing community won't hold together. MMB is the greatest thing that had ever happened to the hexing community and Majormud as a whole. I know for a fact that I would not be playing Majormud right now if it was not for MMB, the people that run it, and the users. My hat goes off to you guys, thank you very much. I just hope that Saryx stays with us and can find the help he needs in a place that once held all the answers.

But what happened to the truly great edited boards? Everything now is just multiplied exp and no lims, shit like that. I know people like that stuff. I'm not trying to start shit. Hell, who knows, maybe one of these people who are asking these questions will give me or PanterraX a run for our money as far as edits go. That would be awesome. I'd love to be able to help someone run a superedited mud like me. I'm sure other people could and just don't have the time. I haven't even done shit lately. Made over 100 new rooms for a new area today then had my room dat fuck up on me so its all gone. :) Oh well. Someone needs to step up and let me be their guide. :)

Btw I've been running abc bbs for almost 2 and a half years now and before I found mbb I thought editted mud was dead. Good to see there's still interest. Logged on a few boards I saw here and dayum I have been slacking. I used to think I was the only one out there with some serious edits, but some of those boards out there have an insane amount. Time to play catchup :)
