Look in any bartending book/website/bar. They will have Flaming Dr. Pepper, its not a local thing. The difference between a boilermaker and a Flaming Dr. Pepper, is that the boilermaker is done by carefully holding a mug over a full shot glass of your favorite liquor (doesn't have to be a specific type), flipping it over quickly as to keep the shot glass at the bottom of the mug, still filled with the liquor. As in, keeping the liquor in the shot glass and not having it spill into the mug. Then you fill the mug with the beer and drink, leaving 90% of the liquor to be taken at the end of the chug. Now, the Flaming Dr. Pepper is quite different. This has to be done with 151. Most people use a shot of 151 and a shot of Amaretto to intensify the Dr. Pepper taste. It's called a Flaming Dr. Pepper because you light the 151 on fire in the shot glass, and drop it into the beer, which is already in the mug (along with the amaretto, if you have any), causing your mug to erupt into a fiery mass of foam. Over the past few weeks I've turned into the bartender of my group since a two good friends of mine got a house and we can do that sort of thing on a nightly basis. Boilermakers are popular at parties, but you probably wont find them at most bars as a drink, since they tend to take too much of the bartenders time to keep the shot glass in the bottom of the mug w/o emptying into the mug. I simply like Flaming Dr. Peppers because they involve fire and drinking.

Geee, thanks speed for clearing that up for me. I was curious myself as to what the hell you were talking about. I've heard of those before and of course "flaming" probably meant it was on fire, since I've seen those before. What other drinks can you set on fire?

You can set anything on fire that involves 151. I'm pretty sure that any liquor over the 150 proof mark is flammable, there is also always a warning on the bottles. I'm not positive if the 150 mark is what sets lquor on fire, it could just be something that is added to 151. 151 is though the only drink I've ever set on fire. I've seen whiskey set fire to, but I dunno what kind.

Uhh since when do you have to be a certain age to "drink" beer? Buying it yes, 21, but drinking it? there's no age limit, Basically if you can hold the can(or bottle) you can drink right?
