Mud is generally made up of these kinds of people
1. Long time players who have this impression that metro will make the game enjoyable
2. People who run their scripts afk
3. People with nothing better to do on a school night
4. SOME newbies but not very many at all
Number four is the most crucial on the list...
Mud NEEDS new blood because the people who quit after awhile wont get replace. Mud's time is past just like how old time BBS were. I use to log onto an old board before there was the internet and we just talked and posted files but why dont people do it...Because there are internet chatrooms and theres IRC.
The games that have come out are much better than a text game tho instead of paying $5-10 a month, your paying $19 a month but still, mud is dying and sooner or later, metro will see that they arent making a profit anymore and will discontinue mud and they WILL discontinue mud sometime soon.
People who buy mmud or worldgroup now have to be the dumbest people...You take a look at the price you pay and I see better shit you could buy with that money...A better computer, new parts for a computer, Rent money, bills, your girlfriend, family, moving out etc
Take the $2000+ price tag on setting up a board and use that money to play a game online monthly

Dark, by your last post, you have obviously shown that you know nothing about the game and the people who play it. I, along with probably 85% of this message board, do not fit into any four of your so-called exclusive categories. I'm a long time player, who does not think metro will do anything else to the game to make it enjoyable, who runs my script afk most of the time, has nothing to do at school some times, and I'm not a newbie. Just saying that your #4 are all-inclusive, why should there be a thousand and one boards out there to cater to your group #4? THAT is why the old people quit and don't get replaced. Because after you've been playing the game for seven odd years, you get bored with powerleveling and being huge with all this equipment. Sure, a few boards here and there for the newbies who want to be all cool with their 1500 point rounds at level 80. That's fine and swell. But what AdmiralAcid is thinking of doing is catering to the old school type of mudder. Someone who doesn't like Megamud any more than it likes them. Someone who would rather walk to the hydra with 4 other people just to get their asses whooped and spend three hours to get their eq back and train. That's what the game is. Not getting huge characters and being bad ass. A lot of boards are all about getting huge characters. I, along with most old-school mudders, would prefer a mud where it does take a while to level, it does take a while to get a group together, and it does take a while to train. Keep the threads going Admiral, cause I like your ideas, and will be the first in your realm.

I played for about four-six years on a board that required you play by hand and it was the BEST mudtime Ive ever played.
Since then, Ive gone from board to board only to find people either afk or after awhile the board dies.
I dont have a problem with powerleveling a newbie or helping them with money..The problem is the game, its fucking OLD man, its lived its years. Sure you can edit shit into mud but i wasnt posting about the boards that are edited, im posting about legal boards.

Me Too... proud old mudder... :cigar:
i like to walk around and party with people who are not AFK.
hell, im trying to get my items for a week now.
Thats the fun in the game...
last board i played was AFK and it got shutdown cause people stopped entering.
power leveling = shit.
people don't play anymore, they script. thats why its dying.

Why are you even going to reply and add your two cents into a post about an EDITED option? A legal board has no option of increasing the trainers or adding new ones, yadda yadda. You posted your opinion on an EDITED option. Therefore, you are not posting about legal boards. Make your case known before hand and you'll have much less problems. If you think the game is so old and is dieing, you can go down with your beliefs. I think that this game is steadily growing. It will continue to grow in my eyes until the day every last person in the hexing community closes their hex editors, stops pushing out new releases of a BAD ASS editing program, stops trying to crack new versions, and turns away from the game. I don't believe this will ever happen.

The beauty of edited mud and demanding edited players... is you don't have to fucking play somewhere if you don't want to.
That's the long, hard, and blunt of that. Take it in the ass and like it.
Now, as far as AdmiralAcid... if you take over Sinister Urge, and do any of the shit I've read, I believe I'll be movin on and movin on. Either way, I hope you enjoy your shit. It sounds to be a very lonely and inactive board from what I've read here as peoples opinions and their opinions on Sinister.

Uh oh. I don't have anything to say, just making a pointless post to get my total up since my board was mentioned.
