If you go here you can see how bad it is down in SD.
http://www.signonsandiego.com/firemap/
My office is basically at the bottom of the RED area thats over the 15 freeway in Rancho Bernardo (Just south of Escondido). If you click the Show all structures burned below it you can see how close my office was to the fire

Rumors going around that a Mesa, Arizona man was arrested on suspicion of arson. Supposedly he was caught with fire-starting materials matching exactly to those used to start the fire in Lake Arrowhead.
I've been unable to validate the claim, however, as there is mention of suspects and suspicions, but no arrests have apparently been made.
Also heard that 2 Hispanic males are being sought for arson relating to the San Diego fires, and another 2 young men are suspected to have started an Orange County fire.
Though from what I've seen on the news, the big fire in OC was started by construction workers welding, and the one in Malibu by downed power lines.
If I caught one of these motherfuckers, I'd have to set his balls on fire. Put him out, rinse and repeat. Several times.
Or maybe throw him in a stadium with a bunch of evacuees and let them beat him around like a pinata.
I started a small brush fire when I was a kid, playing with matches. Burned a field up across from my house, but didn't destroy any buildings. Felt like a total ass, even though nothing significant was damaged.
I can't imagine what goes through the disturbed mind of a dedicated arsonist.
Glad that you're all good, Ghaleon. For now anyway, until the smoke inhalation catches up with you and everyone else in Southern California.

Makes you wonder though how the hell they could find someone that set a fire.. I mean how much evidence would be left if i using a blow torch on some dry vegetation? Seems almost impossible to connect someone with that kind of thing.

I thought the same thing. Like I said, roommate's brother-in-law is an arson investigator. He was explaining techniques that use to determine the starting point of the fire, ignition source, and any fuel used.
Amazing what can be done with modern technology.
Found the story on the Lake Arrowhead arsonist.

NEW: 2 MORE PEOPLE KILLED IN WILDFIRES
8:20 a.m. - San Diego County authorities have discovered the bodies of two more people believed to have been killed in the wildfires that scorched Southern California this week. Sheriff Bill Kolender says recovery crews found the burned bodies in a gutted home near Poway. He says he has no other details, and says medical examiners are trying to establish their identities. The discovery brings to eight the total number of deaths connected to the fires. Click Here For A List Of Wildfire Fatalities >>
Wonder how many more of these they are going to find.

I'm sure there's many more, and chances are plenty of them won't ever be found or identified.
I'd imagine that during a structure fire the temperature can reach or exceed temperatures used to cremate human remains.

The Lake Arrowhead fire started after the others. Maybe he saw the news coverage and figured he'd come add his own personal touch.
One man was shot and killed (see article linked in my post above), and another arrested.
Apparently when confronted he jumped in his vehicle and ran from police. When he was cornered, he started ramming police vehicles, which gives them the 'right' to use deadly force.
