If you're just lookin for a cheap-o winter beater, shoot some specs of what you're lookin for. I just so happen to live in an area where cheap ass cars are basically a dime a dozen. Just tell me what your budget is and what you'd like to get. And i'm nice, so you won't end up with a POS Ford product like that other guy was gonna do. BTW, any running and drivable vehicle is worth

500 bones. If the car runs and drives decent, checkout for major leaks,knocking from under the hood,howling noises from under the hood,thuds or clicking over bumps or around corners. Those are the main keys to finding a decent beater. Look for the cars that someone is selling for dirt cheap because it "has something wrong with it". those cars are usually gold mines for you because 80% of the time it's just an alternator, or a cam seal. Simple junk like that. But, anyways. If you wanna shoot some more info on what you're lookin for, go for it. I have a good eye for that sorta thing.

Ari what area of Lake Michigan do you live?

I live on the Michigan side, 25 minutes s/sw of Grand Rapids. About 2.5-3 hours from Chicago.

I'm actually waiting to hear back from my brother. He wants a new car, still owes about 6k on the '03 elantra, said he'd let me take over payments (is in my dads name) so he could get something newer. I'm not sure it'll happen, but am keeping my fingers cross. Would be a helluva deal, only 65k on it, sport package, new tires, sunroof, tint...all the goodies :)

Anyways...here's to dreaming. :)

awesome. if you can get a decent car without trying, then go for it. I'm not a big fan of hyundai's, but i've worked on a shit load of em. they are easy and cheap to maintain and they don't flip when you go around a corner at 80. Good deal. oh yeah, plus the 100k mile power train warranty always comes in handy if you like doin reverse drops.lol
