I started this thread to give the positives about the board and Owner because another thread/s was/were giving the negatives.



I've been playing mud off and on for years, most of you were probally under the age of ten when I first started.



There are always pros and cons to any given board, legit or not.



BUT I was hoping I could state my positive thoughts without any negativity since other threads are doing just that.



Again, the board is new, going through growing pains but Southern is open to members feedback and takes all things in stride.



If you haven't tried the board, give it a shot of playing one week and decide for yourselves.



As for the drama, if players would learn NOT to reply to any negativity then the people complaining will stop.



Drama people need an audience and if they don't have one they will either finally shut up or go elsewhere..:)

Hey, im not a drama person, and I doubt you've been playing since b4 I was ten, cuz hell.. heh I remember when mud first came around I was in JR. High.. :). Anywho.. I was just stating my thoughts on it, and since this is a REVIEW thread that was my REVIEW.. seeing an EDITED next to someones name, just turns me off right from the start.

It was a general post to all in hopes that atleast this thread stays on a positive note..:)

This is a good Board. Lots of people willing to help with items, cash or exp. Supposed to be weekly updates. Lots of new areas. Absolutely no new items at the moment.



Only problem I have seen is that there are alot of instant regen boss. The sysop had a mesage that stated not to script them if found. People found them and started scripting them. When they were found out they said the sysop said it was ok to script it. So alot of the people on the top 30 got there from cheating. While the rest of us followed the rules and stayed away from them and worked hard to get on the list. So if you can get past that this is a great board.

I was jailed twice by Raiden because I was abusing an instant-regen boss that the sysop stated was OK to do. Draxxen whined to Raiden who then jailed me once and then again later since I was doing the same thing. Raiden insisted that instant-regen boss killing was illegal to do and its on the enterance message. I checked and it wasnt. Clearly I was in the right and Raiden was wrong but instead of listening to reason he banned my two characters. Furthermore script killing is clearly broadcasted as being illegal but Raiden killed my script twice by sending my character to jail. Way to stick to the rules Raiden.



This is why I quit mud in the first place because of asshole ops that cant communicate. My two characters are now banned for 4 months because of Raidens clear lack of understanding the game.

I have talked to Raiden and Southern and sent them a list of the instant bosses. They are taking care of them as we speak. So after that fix this will be a great board to play on.

You were banned cause one of the sysops said dont do it and you argued and got rude and vulgar about it. Same thing you do every time a new board comes up. And jailing someone because they rufuse to obey the sysop is not considered script killing.

I was not rude or vulger about it and I dont play on every board that comes up new (I havent played in well over a year). I argued because I had a valid case that Raiden didnt want to listen to. Hes not the sysop hes a "co-sysop" so get that in your little head. The SYSOP clearly stated what I could and couldnt do after I reported that some (over a half of them)bosses are instant-regens and he said he was well aware of the fact and said that I could kill them. So I dont see how I am breaking the rules since I was told that by the SYSOP.



I was running a script, he killed it by sending me to jail therefore killing the script.



Dont worry about it anyway I wont be playing there again even after my suspension is lifted. The majority of the top 10 people sit at instant-regen bosses and script. Your just pouting because you couldnt figure it out by reading the dat files. Two of the characters on the top ten are edited characters anyway. I dont know what your problem is with me but it sounds like you need to go change your pad.

This is clear reason why you guys should have a test server setup to do your edits and testing on, before actually putting it in the real game. You should never leave it up to the players to follow certain guidelines. Instead you should completely test an area, making sure that their are no instant regen spots BEFORE you let the players go in there.

You allow all the players access to the test server, to help test it, but let them know that after each release to the REAL server, their characters will be deleted and the realm will be reset. This way you will know who is accelerating in lvls by looking at the top list and you can remove the unbalanced features. Players will still want to play on the test server so that they can see what future releases in your realm will look like and get the edge over others.

There is a reason why "rules were made to be broken" is a popular phrase. If you really want the board to be balanced then you need to stop allowing the players to manage themselves and start coming up with ways that prevent the players from doing this abuse. Otherwise you will continue to have these types of issues.

Zan - Dave said he never at any point gave you permission to script any instant regen mob.



As for the other users - We just put in a fix for the majority of instant regen mobs, thank you Draxxen for pointing the majority of them out to us. I believe the main problem began with the original fix on the boss regen time... some rules weren't set appropriately in the universal modifier. However, the larger ones are fixed now, and we're poring through the dats looking for the others.
