After using all your extensions, your date will be about a 1/2 year to a year after your volation date. Make damn sure you show up at the final court date. If you do, there is a 75% chance that the police officer that pulled you over wont show up because he can't remember the event that took place. If he does show, its a mistrial and your off the hook :)

How is it a mistrial if he does show?

The police are just doing thier jobs. You could just pay the fine and slow down a little. Speeding tickets are a huge budget factor in police forces. The more tickets they collect the more cars they can buy, armour, weapons, gadgets.

My brother is a statie in Delaware. He told me all about it and what they have to do to make thier "numbers" He says its a giant pain but they gotta do what they gotta do.

Usually where I live when you go to court just to fight it no matter what they will lower your ticket and give you more days to pay it but you have to have at least one reason why you shouldn't pay the fine. The last ticket I got from a police they made a mistake on the ticket so I didn't have to pay it, I was so happy since I haven't even had my license for a year.

Because if you plee not guilty and go to court to try and defend the fact that you WERENT speeding, the officer that pulled you over needs to be there to tell his/her side of the story. If they dont show, its a mistrial and your off the hook.

My track record with traffic court is dubious at best. A while back I was pulled over near Broadmore [in Overland Park, Ks]. I was driving east on Johnson drive and crested a hill. There sitting on the north side was an officer running radar. About the same time, some moron in a little hatchback blasted past me doing at LEAST 55mph in a 35mph zone. When the hatchback saw the officer, he hit the brakes and literally slid into the curb and bounced off. Now after seeing all this, who do you think the police officer pulled over!?!?!? MOI!

He literally followed the both of us for several blocks, by which time the driver of the hatchback was long gone. He continued on down the road doing about 40mph while I was doing 35mph. The officer followed me all to way to my job and then pulled me over in the parking lot and gave me a ticket for an expired tag, it had expired about a week before and I hadn't noticed... talk about pissed...

The officer walks up, in Overland Park officers have a wireless mic setup with the microphone sticking out of their shirt just above their waist, seeing the microphone I decided to question him about why he pulled me over and not the couple in the hatch batch since they were obviously speeding and almost lost control of the car when they saw him... He couldn't say a word... he reluctantly gave me the ticket then proceeded to go ahead and give several of my co-workers tickets for parking in a fire zone [a first ever from what I understand].

When I went to trial I admitted guilt but wondered why he let the driver of the hatchback leave when he was more of a danger on the road than myself and why did he allow the driver to continue on at an accelerated rate to boot before pulling me over... I also asked why he followed me all the way to my job before pulling me over? It looked as though he was trying to cause maximum embarrassment.

None of those questions where answered... The judge 'tried' to insinuate that I was exaggerating, until I asked them to check out the officers car cam and audio recording... the Judge didn't say a word... I still ended up getting popped for the ticket but I just wanted to show them how fucked up the law really was and who it affected.
